Erast Fandorin secretly wants to become a detective, and by chance ends up helping the police solve a murder which appeared to be a suicide. Upon solving the crime, Erast comes across some very interesting information: it turns out that political organizations are behind the "suicide", and now Erast must go up against the organizations that are in charge of the country's politics, culture and economy.
