However, when the diamond is transported to Moscow, it falls into the hands of the crime boss Kozulskiy, who is then robbed by Vasiliy Krolikov. The plot shifts to Krolikov and his two triplet brothers (at the end of the film Vasiliy discovers that they were in fact quadruplets). He's pursued by Kozulskiy's mafia and two Soviet Militia officers -- Piskunov and the unnamed lieutenant, who will stop at nothing to get the precious diamond back.
