It's believed author, the blind bard Homer, is shrouded in mystery; even the dates and locations of his birth and death are unknown. There are no certainties about the blind poet who told us in fine detail the story of the Trojan War and the return of King Ithaca to his native land. There are no original manuscripts of the poem, as during Homer's time entire songs were sung by travelling bards.
